Chapter 27:

Fight 2

Immediately afterwards, the three of us, along with the six girls from the other side, were invited into the office by the academic affairs director.

The academic affairs director glared angrily at us, especially when he saw how disheveled we all looked. He was so angry he couldn’t utter a word.

Finally, he could only sigh helplessly and say to our counselor, “Go and tell their parents to come to the school.”

Not long after, the parents arrived one by one. The other parents, seeing their children injured, immediately asked with concern, “Who hit you?”

They all pointed at me.

The other parents started sarcastically, “Whose child is so ill-mannered?”

“You’re the one with no manners! Your child just hits people randomly. If she hadn’t hit me first, would I have hit her?” I retorted defiantly.

The academic affairs director, seeing that only my parents hadn’t come and that they were all pointing at me, accusing me of assault, wanted to reprimand me to calm the other parents’ anger.

“Sharon Yao, where are your parents?”

“Director, her parents are in a meeting, they’ll be here soon!” the homeroom teacher said, winking at the academic affairs director. It implied that her parents had some serious connections.

Snow Chen was crying, hugging her father, a middle-aged man with a large belly. “Dad, it’s not Sharon Yao’s fault. They bullied me, they all hit me. Sharon Yao and Charlotte Wang helped me; six of them beat the three of us.”

“Dad, I’ll help you, don’t cry! My good daughter.” Snow Chen’s father comforted her.

“You can’t just let this go after all that—a group of you beating my daughter.” Snow Chen’s father said angrily.

“Who’s more seriously injured! Look at how you three beat our daughter; she’s clearly more seriously injured.” The other parent retorted.

“That’s because your daughter is useless; she couldn’t even win against a group of people. It’s shameful.” Charlotte Wang’s mother said displeased.

Just then, a man in a custom-made black suit, with a distinguished air and elegant demeanor, walked in. His arrival silenced the entire office instantly, everyone turning to look at him.

It was Shane Yu. He strode in with steady steps, his eyes radiating an indescribable authority.

Shane Yu noticed me immediately, standing in the crowd. He strode up to me, scrutinizing my face. When he saw the handprint on my cheek and my disheveled hair, his expression darkened, a barely perceptible glint of anger flashing in his eyes.

“Who hit you?” Shane Yu’s voice was low and cold, carrying an overwhelming pressure.

The office fell silent for a moment…

I tried to suppress my emotions, but when Shane Yu appeared before me, all the grievances and resentment welled up inside me. Tears streamed down my face, and I threw myself into Shane Yu’s arms, sobbing uncontrollably.

“Waaah… They bullied the three of us girls because they outnumbered us. Not only did they hit us, but they also bullied my parents, saying I was ill-mannered. Waaah…” I sobbed, recounting the injustice I had suffered, my heart filled with grievance and resentment.

Shane Yu immediately found a seat and gently comforted me, saying, “My Sharon, you’ve been wronged. I’m here to help you, okay?”

As he spoke, he picked up a tissue from the table and carefully wiped away my tears. However, when he saw the red, swollen slap marks on my face, his brows furrowed, and a hint of heartache flashed in his eyes.

“How awful! I couldn’t even bear to slap you, yet someone dared to lay a hand on you,” Shane Yu muttered under his breath, his voice filled with anger.

I gradually stopped crying and leaned against Shane Yu’s shoulder, feeling his warm presence.

Shane Yu turned slightly and gave his assistant, Liu, a look behind him. Assistant Liu understood immediately and approached each parent, distributing business cards to everyone present.

“All medical expenses today will be covered by our General Manager Yu. As for those who assaulted us, we have already engaged a lawyer to discuss a solution with you. If the issue cannot be resolved through private negotiation, we will take legal action to protect our rights and demand that the assailants apologize in person,” Assistant Liu stated firmly.

Then, he turned to the Dean of Students: “You must be the Dean of Students, right? In your school, student safety has been threatened. I’d like to hear your explanation for this.” Faced with this aggressive man, the Dean of Students felt a chill of fear, silently wiping the sweat from his brow, racking his brains for a response.

Just then, several other parents expressed their dissatisfaction, but when they saw the name “Shane Yu” on the business card, they immediately fell silent. After all, they were just ordinary small business owners; who would dare easily offend Shane Yu, a tycoon in Shengcheng?

“So you’re President Yu! I’m so sorry, what just happened was a complete farce. I’ll definitely have my child apologize to that little girl!” one parent quickly stood up and declared.

“Are you sure it’s President Yu?” another parent asked.

“In Shengcheng, there’s only one person named Shane Yu!” another parent said.

“What’s his relationship with that girl? I’ve never heard of President Yu having a daughter?” another parent continued.

“Do I need to explain our relationship?” Assistant Liu questioned impatiently. “Whoever laid a hand on her, apologize now before President Yu gets angry!” A parent pulled their child to apologize to me. “President Yu, I’m sorry, it was our child’s fault.”

“Apologize quickly,” the parent said to the child.

“I’m sorry!” the little girl apologized reluctantly.

“Assistant Liu, take back what you just said. I don’t want them to apologize anymore. I need to have Sharon Yao’s injuries assessed at the hospital. They’re both 18 years old; I want to pursue criminal charges against them.” The parent opposite her looked apologetic and continued, “Mr. Yu, it was just kids playing around.”

Shane Yu looked up at Assistant Liu with displeasure and gave him a look.

Assistant Liu immediately stepped forward, blocking Shane Yu’s path. “This parent, please don’t disturb our Mr. Yu. We will assign a lawyer to speak with you later.”

Shane Yu looked at me gently and asked, “Are you feeling better? Does your face hurt?”

I stopped crying: “I’m much better! I…”

“Then let’s go to the hospital to get my face checked.” With that, Shane Yu took my hand and led me out.

At this moment, a thin man in a suit and carrying a bag entered. He greeted Shane Yu, “Good morning, Mr. Yu!”

Shane Yu said coldly, “Attorney Sun, I’m entrusting this to you. Don’t let me down.”

“Don’t worry, Mr. Yu, I’m the top lawyer in Shengcheng!” Attorney Sun patted his chest and assured her. “For premeditated group fights involving three or more people, serious cases can result in sentences of three years or more in prison,” Attorney Sun told the opposing parents as he entered.

“This is just a minor brawl, how is it serious?” the opposing parents argued.

The thin Attorney Sun adjusted his glasses and said, “Then we’ll wait for the hospital’s forensic report! I suggest you actively admit your mistakes and ask for the victim’s forgiveness.” Whether it’s serious or not, the forensic report will decide. As for the report… well, that depends on whether Mr. Yu wants to let you off the hook!

Snow Chen’s father also took Snow Chen to the hospital.

On the way, Snow Chen’s father asked, “What’s the relationship between Shane Yu and your classmate?”

“Uncle, he’s Sharon Yao’s uncle.”

“Oh! But the way he looks at your classmate, it doesn’t seem like a family relationship, it’s more like…” The way a man looks at his beloved possession, with a strong possessiveness.

“Dad, more like what?” Snow Chen asked.

“You’re still young, you don’t understand, you’ll understand when you grow up!” He then patted Snow Chen’s head. “Does it hurt?”

“Dad, it hurts, it hurts terribly.” Snow Chen said, pulling at his wound and showing a pained expression.
