Chapter 6:

A Tickled Feeling in My Heart, as If Gently Brushed by Goose Feathers

Victor Mo turned his head to look at her.
Her gentle profile, the fair skin of her neck faintly visible beneath her long hair, her brows radiating happiness, her smile as beautiful as a flower.
Her diamond-shaped lips were now opening and closing, speaking softly into the phone:
“Okay, the visa is all done… I wasn’t selected to grade exams this year… The college entrance exam results will be released on the 25th, and after that, I’ll be guiding students on filling out their college applications… Alright, I’ll let you know once I’ve bought the plane ticket. Make sure you can spend time with me… Take care of yourself too, and don’t skip meals when you’re busy… I’ll cook your favorite dishes for you when I get there… Okay, Dad, goodbye!”
Looking at her radiant expression, Victor Mo felt a ticklish sensation in his heart, as if gently brushed by goose feathers.
Serena Li noticed a gaze fixed on her. She turned around and met Victor Mo’s eyes.
“Does Miss Li teach graduating classes?” Victor Mo asked, looking at her.
“Yeah,” Serena Li said with a smile, putting her phone back in her bag.
Victor Mo nodded, then asked, “How long did you teach?”
“Three years, just from the first year of high school to the third year.”
“Z University is not a teacher training school, so why do you want to become a teacher?”
“I, uh—”
Serena Li could finish speaking, the driver suddenly braked, causing her to lean to the right and her handbag to fall from her lap. The man who had been very close to her suddenly pressed down on her, their lips almost touching.
Her body stiffened, and her bright, watery eyes widened.
In an instant, I forgot all my reactions, even my breathing stopped.
Victor Mo was also somewhat surprised. The driver in front suddenly braked, and he naturally lost his balance and crashed into the girl. The man’s handsome nose touched the girl’s small nose.
The instant they met, Victor Mo’s Adam’s apple bobbed, and a subtle reaction occurred somewhere in his body.

The air seemed to freeze.
He frowned slightly, but before he could back away, the woman in his arms reached out and shoved him in the chest with all her might, then sat up straight and turned to look out the window.
The driver in front realized he had caused trouble and quickly turned around to explain, “Mr. Mo, someone just ran a red light. I’m sorry.”
Victor Mo’s handsome face darkened, and he remained silent. Naturally, the driver dared not say anything more and obediently drove.
The car fell silent; no one spoke.
Victor Mo picked up the bottled water next to his chair, unscrewed it, took a big gulp, and then picked up his tablet to continue watching.
The car quickly arrived at the entrance of the Four Seasons Garden residential complex. After stopping, Serena Li unbuckled her seatbelt, breathed a slight sigh of relief, and politely said to Victor Mo , “Mr. Mo, I’ve arrived. Thank you for bringing me back.”
Victor Mo looked up at the residential buildings outside the window, lit a cigarette, held it between his fingers, nodded, and said, “Let’s go back.”
She thanked the driver again, opened the car door, and got out.
A night breeze blew by, and the red skirt that Serena Li wore, which looked even more vibrant and beautiful under the streetlights, fluttered gently in the wind.
Victor Mo sat in the car, watching her receding figure, his eyes darting around, revealing a rare hint of interest in his gaze.
Serena Li returned home, put down her handbag, and went to the bathroom. She looked at her face, which was slightly flushed from drinking half a glass of red wine, in the half-length mirror.
She frowned, thinking that she and Victor Mo were not familiar with each other at all, but in less than an hour, he had grabbed her hand and they had almost kissed. Could it be that the alcohol had made her sluggish?
Alcohol really does lead to trouble; it’s best to drink less.
