Chapter 36:

Guidance

I was in the conference room when I suddenly heard Shane Yu’s deafening roar. I almost choked on my milk tea.

Lucy Lin immediately handed me a tissue. “Are you alright?” she asked with concern, her voice as gentle as a spring breeze.

“Does Shane Yu often lose her temper like this?” I asked timidly.

She smiled gently and said, “No, our CEO Yu doesn’t often lose her temper.”

I gave a bitter smile, a smile more painful than a grimace.

Lucy Lin looked at me and gave me a bright smile: “Ms. Yao, is there anything you’d like to eat? I’ll arrange it.”

“I don’t need anything yet, thank you!” I replied politely.

I held my phone and saw in our WeChat group of six that Snow Chen asked me, “Sharon, why didn’t you come to class today?”

I replied, “I was sick and need to rest for a few days.”

“Then you should rest well!” Snow Chen comforted me, her words as warm as the winter sun.

“Sharon, you’re just too thin. Eating more might improve your immunity!” Charlotte Wang added, her voice full of concern.

“My wife is right!” Simon Hu replied, his tone sweet.

“Haven’t seen you for a day, and you’ve become my wife?” I asked immediately, a hint of surprise in my voice.

“They’re together now. I wanted to tell you when you came to school today,” Snow Chen continued, her voice brimming with excitement.

“Congratulations!” I congratulated her, my blessing as dazzling as fireworks in the night sky.

“Looking forward to Sharon finding her other half soon!” Charlotte Wang replied, her voice tinged with anticipation.

I sent an emoji: “Love will only slow down my sword-drawing speed.”

Tank Gu also sent an emoji: “Don’t bother me, I want to sleep.”

The group chat fell silent instantly.

Shane Yu walked in, beaming, and asked, “What are you looking at? You seem so happy.”

“I’m chatting with a classmate.”

“What are you chatting about?” he asked.

“Want to see?” I handed him my phone.

Shane Yu waved his hand, then looked at the time. “It’s lunchtime, let’s go eat!”

…That night in bed, Shane Yu held Sharon Yao in his arms, passionately kissing her, gazing at her delicate eyes and round lips, pinching her small, palm-sized cheek.

Sharon Yao’s face was flushed; she was such a charming little girl, Shane Yu liked her more and more the more he looked at her.

I tentatively asked, “Can I go back to school tomorrow?”

“Go back the day after tomorrow.”

Shane Yu said, placing her bleeding arm, where Sharon Yao had bitten her, in front of her.

“Look, shouldn’t we settle this score?”

“Shane Yu, I’m sorry! Let me put some medicine on it and clean it.” Sharon Yao guiltily tried to get up and leave.

He grabbed Sharon Yao’s wrist directly. “It’s just a small injury, I don’t need medicine.”

Shane Yu pulled her into his arms with a little force. “I’m asking you now, are you still going to mention leaving me?”

“I… I won’t.” Sharon Yao said softly.

Shane Yu’s lips curled up. “Won’t? You’re still giving me such a perfunctory answer.”

As he spoke, his hand was already tightly around Sharon Yao’s slender waist.

“I’ll listen to you from now on.” Sharon Yao’s fear of Shane Yu was more genuine, especially since she was still in his hands. She didn’t want to relive yesterday’s pain.

“If someone asks you why you chose to be with me, what will you say?”

“I…” Did I have a choice?

Shane Yu frowned, his expression displeased. “Don’t I have any good points?”

Shane Yu was willing to guide her step by step.

“You’re handsome, very rich, and take good care of me.” I said cautiously. But in my heart, I thought: But these aren’t what I want.

Shane Yu nodded with some satisfaction. “If your mother asks you, what do you plan to say?”

I lowered my head and pondered, “I’ll say it’s because I willingly wanted to be with you.”

Shane Yu pinched her nose, then a cold smile appeared on his lips: “Can’t you show a little happiness? Do you think I’m that repulsive?”

“I’ll talk to them properly.” I looked at Shane Yu with a forced smile.

Shane Yu pinched Sharon Yao’s chin, threatening her word by word, “Then you’d better behave, or you won’t be going to school anymore. You’ll stay in this villa forever, so I don’t have to worry about you getting too close to other men.”

“I’ll listen to you,” I replied obediently.

“I want more than just obedience; I want heartfelt submission. Be proactive today, and we’ll rest early after we’re done,” Shane Yu’s breath tickled my ear.

“I’m not feeling well today…”

“Just once today…” He said just once, but that was no joke. Shane Yu was a complete liar.

The next morning.

“Baby, get up and get ready. I’m taking you to a charity event today,” Shane Yu whispered in my ear.

I was still half asleep when he pulled me up to wash up.

I was wearing the grey Prada dress he bought me, which really accentuated my figure, with a light blue Versace Medusa men’s casual shirt over it, and classic white Nike sneakers.

He was wearing a tailored gray suit and called me over to tie his tie.

I had tried to learn, but my first attempt was still a bit clumsy.

“You’re still learning, keep practicing,” Shane Yu said, his arm around my slender waist, teasing me.

“Mmm!” I replied casually.

The car drove further and further, the mountain road becoming increasingly rugged. Finally, we entered a remote district. In a dilapidated school…
