Shane Yu got up and dressed, looking at Sharon Yao, who had just woken up and looked haggard.
“I’ve arranged a part-time helper for you. She’ll come and take care of you in a bit! I have to go to the company today.” Shane Yu lowered his head and kissed Sharon Yao’s lips tenderly.
“I’m talking to you…” Shane Yu was really angry that Sharon Yao didn’t say anything; this little girl dared to ignore him.
“I know, thank you, Uncle!” Sharon Yao said softly, not daring to look up at Shane Yu, her head lowered, terrified.
Shane Yu’s handsome, baby-faced man smiled, a faint smile playing on his lips. “Just call me Shane Yu from now on!”
Sharon Yao nodded, indicating she understood.
Then he reached for the gift in his suit pocket, remembering the pearl necklace he had bought for Sharon Yao that day. He thought the necklace suited Sharon Yao’s fair skin perfectly, so he decided to give it to her as a gift.
“This is for you.” He took out the gift and handed it to Sharon Yao.
Sharon Yao took the gift, showing little enthusiasm, only saying thank you.
Shane Yu frowned unhappily, giving a cold laugh: “Aren’t you going to look at what it is?”
Sharon Yao reluctantly picked up the gift and slowly unwrapped it. When she saw the pearl necklace inside…
“Thank you! It’s beautiful!” she said sincerely, but her heart was largely unmoved.
Shane Yu was somewhat disappointed in Sharon Yao’s reaction; the little girl wasn’t very obedient yet. But because he had company business to attend to, he couldn’t worry about it too much. “I’m leaving. You can contact me if you need anything.”
With that, Shane Yu left the ward.
After watching him leave, Sharon Yao immediately and slowly got up. A strong feeling of unease welled up inside her, and her body trembled uncontrollably. She slowly walked towards the bathroom, covering her mouth with her hand as she went, afraid she would vomit.
Once inside the bathroom, she could no longer control her emotions, and her body convulsed with fear. She bent over in pain, bracing herself against the sink to keep from collapsing.
After vomiting, Sharon Yao felt much better. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself.
Then she went into the shower, letting the warm water wash over her body. She scrubbed her skin vigorously, trying to wash away the feeling of uncleanliness and escape the suffocating oppression.
Sharon Yao adjusted her mood and state of mind. She picked up the phone and called her mother. “Mom, I want to be discharged. I want to go home.”
Her mother rushed over at noon to handle the discharge procedures. She asked me suspiciously, “Who paid our hospital fees?”
“Maybe it was my aunt or uncle. My aunt came with my uncle yesterday,” I replied, knowing in my heart that it was probably my uncle who paid.
“Okay, let’s be discharged then. Mom will pay her back later.”
Back home, I lay down and texted Uncle Shane Yu. “Almost recovered, go home and rest.”
Then I changed Uncle Shane Yu’s contact name to “Beast.”
Shane Yu looked at the text message and saw it was from Sharon Yao. A slight smile appeared on his face. The smile quickly vanished as he read the message and knew Sharon Yao was avoiding him.
He typed and sent it: “I’ll wait until you’ve recovered!”
Sharon Yao looked at the beastly message and immediately deleted it. She wished she could erase Shane Yu from her world.
…The school organized its autumn sports meet, held on the banks of the Liao River in Shengcheng.
Since my foot injury had just healed, I sat quietly in a corner cheering on my classmates.
Cindy Song walked over. She pointed to my right and behind me. “Sharon, Chris He told me he wants to see you. He’s waiting for you over there.”
“Tell him I’m not going,” I refused directly.
“Sharon, I can tell Chris He really likes you! Wouldn’t it be better if you two just talked things out?” Cindy Song continued to persuade me.
“I’m not going. We’ve already made things clear.” I didn’t want to get involved in any more feelings.
Rongxin continued, “Sharon, he said he’d keep waiting until you come over.”
I remained silent, my mind a jumble.
I really did see Chris He standing there for an hour, and I couldn’t bear it any longer, so I went over.
I asked, “Chris He, we’ve made everything clear, why do you still want to see me?”
Chris He looked at me with deep affection. “Sharon, is your injury healed?”
I nodded, replying, “It’s healed!”
“I’ve tried to forget you these past few days, but your image is all I can think about. I don’t believe you like that uncle.”
I frowned in displeasure and questioned, “What did he say to you that day?”
“He said you slept with him, and told me to give up.” Chris He’s voice trailed off.
Hearing this, I felt my head explode, then everything went black, and I fell backward.
Chris He immediately ran over, crouched down, and hugged me. “Sharon, are you alright?”
My eyes were empty; I didn’t reply. I felt insulted. I hated Shane Yu; he was such a beast. “Sharon! Sharon!” Chris He hugged me tightly, calling my name repeatedly in my ear.
