Chapter 1:

The Charm of a Mature Man

As the city lights begin to twinkle, nightlife begins.
Serena Li and her friends went to the SOHO Clubhouse to sing karaoke.
SOHO is one of the top high-end clubs in Pengcheng, integrating leisure, entertainment and business. Whether it’s discussing business or sharing sentiments, important figures like to choose this place.
Neither of them drove over, so their friend Joyce Wu ordered a few bottles of liquor, intending to drink until they were completely drunk.
Serena Li was taken aback by her audacious statement, and before she could stop her, Joyce Wu had already placed the order.
As a longtime friend, Serena Li immediately understood that Joyce Wu was troubled.
“Joyce, you said it was to celebrate my escape from the dark month of June, but it seems to me you’re just drowning your sorrows in alcohol,” Serena Li teased her.
Joyce Wu said, “My cousin’s husband is cheating on me, and my cousin wants a divorce. They’ve been bothering me like crazy lately!”
“Is it that serious?” Serena Li asked, frowning.
“ Jack Jiang cheated on me multiple times, and there are tons of hotel records. One of the women even publicly posted a video of him threatening my cousin. My cousin is determined to get a divorce this time and has moved into a hotel. Jack Jiang can’t find my cousin, so he comes to the yoga studio to look for me every day,” Joyce Wu said irritably.
Joyce Wu knows her cousin Sophia Su and her husband Jack Jiang , and they’ve met up a few times. As far as I remember, they fell in love in college, started a business in Pengcheng, got married, and are now quite successful, having built their own business.
“How can a businessman be clean? Businessmen have many social engagements and many temptations. It’s already quite good if some men can resist being blinded by lust. My cousin used to turn a blind eye. But she thought Jack Jiang wouldn’t just go to a hotel with any woman and mess around. Looks like she misjudged him! Isn’t he afraid of getting a disease?” Joyce Wu took a sip of her drink and began to berate Jack Jiang .
“Sigh, men are all carnivores. When their hormones are raging, they don’t care about such things. Don’t you think so, Serena?” Joyce Wu turned to ask Serena Li .
“Actually, a man’s loyalty doesn’t come from his body, but from his heart. Any man will have a physical reaction to the advances of a sexy, alluring, and experienced woman, but it depends on whether his heart is willing to indulge himself. If he has someone in his heart, thinks about her, misses her, and feels he can’t betray her, he will naturally be loyal. If he doesn’t care about that woman at all, then loyalty is irrelevant. If a woman can bring him pleasure, then he should enjoy it,” Serena Li said after thinking for a moment.
“Serena truly lives up to her reputation as a teacher; what she said makes perfect sense!” Joyce Wu said, patting Serena Li on the shoulder.
Serena Li tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and asked, “Does your cousin’s husband agree to a divorce?”
“Of course I disagree! He wants to have affairs while keeping his wife at home. But my cousin can’t accept this kind of marriage, she can’t live with it, and she’s hiring a lawyer to file for divorce.” In the blink of an eye, Joyce Wu drank another glass of wine.
Serena Li pondered for a moment, then suddenly remembered something and asked Joyce Wu , “I remember your yoga studio, your cousin-in-law had a stake in it back then?”
“Yes, my cousin said that when we’re dividing the assets in our divorce case, we should try to get Jack Jiang ’s 15% stake so that we can avoid having any business dealings with him in the future,” Joyce Wu said.
“Will he give it to me?” Serena Li felt it wouldn’t be that easy.
“My cousin hired Attorney Sheng from Jincheng Law Firm as her client this time, the one who specializes in handling divorce cases for wealthy businesswomen. Attorney Sheng is highly professional and shrewd, so I think it will work. Hey, everyone says today is a celebration of your escape from the sea of college entrance exams, so let’s not talk about these unhappy things. Let’s sing and drink!” With that, Joyce Wu went over to select a song.
